Synod 2023: Communion, Participation, Mission

From the Parish Newsletter for the Second Sunday After Christmas:

Synod 2023

Last October, the Holy Father officially launched the two-year global consultation process leading to the 2023 synod on synodality. The Holy Father spoke how it is a call to “look others in the eye and listen to what they have to say”. Preaching at the launch Mass, the Pope reflected that this time of consultation is a time for us to open ourselves up to prayer: “… time to devote to prayer and adoration – this prayer that we neglect so much: to adore, to make room for adoration – listening to what the Spirit wants to say to the Church”. I am very grateful to our two parish representatives who are working closely with the Archdiocese to facilitate this time of consultation. It has the opportunity of being a graced time for our parish. An initial information meeting about the Synod has been arranged at Our Lady’s Church on Monday, 10th January 2022 at 6:00pm. We are in the Church so that we can also live-stream the meeting to those who are unable to attend in person. If you would like to book a place in the Church, please contact Fr. Daniel directly, either by telephone or by emailing cwmbran@rcadc.org.
