Pilgrimage to Assisi and Rome

Due to Fr Kevin’s illness Canon John has been asked to be the Spiritual Director of the pilgrimage, seats are available if anyone is interested.
The date for the pilgrimage is Sunday 20th May to Sunday 27th May 2018. Cost £849.00 per person. An extra charge is applicable for single rooms. Corpus Christi Procession: 3rdJune
This year, we have been invited to Llantarnam Abbey to process with our First Communion children and Confirmation Candidates. Please can I invite you to take part in this procession and meet at the Abbey at 2.45pm
The Procession begins at 3pm and after the Procession we are invited to Ty Croeso for light refreshments. Please will the children and students wear their First Holy Communion / Confirmation clothes
Also, we have the joy to welcome our brother and sisters from the Newport Deanery to process with us.
Stewards are needed to help before, during, and/or after the event. If you can help please attend the meeting at the Abbey on Thursday 31stMay at 7pm
Mental Health First Aid
Do you deal with members of the public who may be suffering from mental health issues? Are you unsure how best to respond? The Archdiocese of Cardiff is subsidising a 2-day Mental Health First Aid course which will run 11 am – 5 pm on Fri 15 and Fri 22 June 2018 – the course runs in parallel at two venues on the same dates, in Cardiff at the Pastoral Resources Centre, and in Pontypool at St Alban’s High School. The course normally costs £120 but the diocese is making it available at £30 per person. There are currently 9 spaces available in Pontypool and 4 in Cardiff, so do book quickly.
THE ARCHDIOCESE OF CARDIFF will be running a course for those interested in supporting the bereaved. This will be held on Saturday June 30thfrom 10am until 4pm at the Pastoral Resource Centre, Newport Rd. Cardiff. The cost of the day will be £25 and this will include all resources and a light lunch. Your parish will usually pay for this. It is aimed at those who are already part of a Bereavement Support Group in their parish, anyone wishing to be part of a group or who would like to start one.There will be a final brief session on Saturday 7thJuly at 3.30pm in Christ the King Church where the setting up of a group will be discussed and the commissioning of those who have completed the course will take place as part of the Parish Mass at 6pm.
