The Announcements of Easter and Moveable Feasts
On the Epiphany of the Lord, after the singing of the Gospel, a Deacon of cantor, in keeping with an ancient practice of Holy church , announces from the ambo the moveable feasts of the current year according to this formula:
Know, Dear Brethren, (brothers and sisters,)
that, as we have rejoiced at the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, so by leave of God’s mercy we announce to you also the joy of his Resurrection, who is our Saviour
On the 6th day of March will fall Ash Wednesday, and the beginning of the fast of the most sacred Lenten season.
On the 21stday of April you will celebrate with joy Easter Day, the Paschal feast of our Lord Jesus Christ.
On 30thday of May will be the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ.
On the 9thday of June, the feast of Pentecost.
On the 23rdday of June, the feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.
On the 1stday of December, the First Sunday of the Advent of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom is honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen
The Course continues on Monday evenings in St Anne’s room from 7.00pm to 8.30pm

The prayer group meet on Tuesday mornings after Mass in St David’s.
Union of Catholic Mothers
The UCM meet on Wednesdays after Mass in St Anne’s room.
You are invited to St Anne’s room on Wednesday evenings at 7pm for the weekly prayer meeting. Please bring a bible.
Reconciliation and First Holy Communion
Preparation classes will begin on Monday 18th February at 5.30pm in St Anne’s room, Our Lady’s. Parents to attend the first session with their children.

Mass in Welsh
Offeren Y Sul yn Gymraeg: Mass in Welsh will be celebrated on Sunday February 24th at 4 30pm at St Teilo’s Church, Whitchurch, Cardiff CF14 1AD. Bilingual booklets are provided. Croeso cynnes i bawb.
Flame 2019 is the biggest Catholic Youth Event in the UK. It is taking place on Saturday 2ndMarch 2019 at Wembley Arena in London. This national Catholic Youth Event is a fantastic opportunity for the young people of our Archdiocese to come together to celebrate their faith with thousands of other young Catholics from across the UK and Ireland. This is an ideal event for our Parishes to bring their young people journeying towards Confirmation. If there is enough interest a coach will be booked. 9.30am Mass in Our Lady of the Angels Church on Sunday May 19th.

The National Novena to St Joseph
The National Novena to St Joseph will take place from 10-18 March 2019 at St Joseph’s Church in Maidenhead and at Herbert House, Freshfield, Liverpool. Each year the Mill Hill Missionaries prepare for the Feast of St joseph, their patron, with a special Novena of Masses and prayers to ask for God’s blessing on their Society and the missionary outreach of the Church, as well as for the intentions of all those who support their work. How Can We Share Our Faith Better? Forming Intentional Disciples (FID)
The Archdiocese of Cardiff has invited Sherry Weddell, the American author of the book “Forming Intentional Disciples: The Path to Knowing and Following Jesus”to speak to clergy for two days (13th– 14thJune) as part of the Diocesan evangelisation outreach. On Saturday June 15thshe will speak about her book and conduct workshops with lay representatives of parishes at the Holiday Inn, Coldra, Newport. Sherry would prefer that people attending this event have read her book beforehand.
Therefore, a number of copies have been obtained for Our Lady’s and St David’s Parish and weekly sessions will take place during Lent to read, study and discuss the book. These will take place at 2pm on Mondays in St David’s and at 7pm on Thursdays in Our Lady’s.
